Manzanita (Ritz Carlton)

This rustically elegant restaurant located within the Ritz Carlton is a jaw dropping must see. The atmosphere is relaxing, yet it makes you feel as if you are somewhere really special. I mean, they have a chef’s table for those lucky enough to be VIPs. I was not a VIP and I still felt like royalty tasting the California inspired cuisine. Go here, now.

Bridgetender Tavern

AKA the BT! They have pub grub with amazing waffle fries. I am seriously obsessed. If I was thrown into a pool of their fries I would no doubt eat my way out of it. This cozy tavern offers riverfront dining options to those outdoor enthusiasts. When in Tahoe, you gotta soak up all of mama nature that you can. This eatery has a lot of history with the Truckee River and has been in operation since 1977. There is a reason for that, go try their fries!

The Hyatt

The Hyatt at Incline Village has a few different venue options, depending on what you are looking to do. Two of my favorites are Lone Eagle Lounge and Cutthroat Saloon, which serves beer in mason jars and has an old western feel to it with dolla dolla bills on the ceiling.

Reno

The biggest little city in the world. There is so much to do in Reno, whether you are looking to explore the casinos, go shopping or bar hop; there is something there for everyone. Take the quick drive from Lake Tahoe to Reno and fulfill your every whim.

Sand Harbor

Go see the crystal clear water and long rocky beaches at San Harbor. There are some amazing nature walks and hikes in this area, with one of the most beautiful parts of the lake, in my opinion.

Tahoe City

Tahoe City revolves around the winter season. It is the stereotypical winter wonderland town with one of a kind cafes, coffee shops and more. It is the perfect little small town to get lost in. If you are in Tahoe during winter time, I urge you to wander here.

Incline Village

Named for the Incline Tramway built for loggers back in 1878, Incline Village houses some of the most spectacular mountain retreats in the Tahoe area. Winter or Summer the view is absolutely breath taking. This is definitely a place on my bucket list to stay one day. If you have not experienced the relaxation of Incline, do not hesitate to add it your travel itinerary.

Squaw Village

AKA the Olympic Village. It is practically it’s own little town. Everything you could want is located within the walls of the village. Shops, restaurants, activities, ski runs, anything your heart desires. If you have the chance to stay here, you will not regret it. The Squaw village gives of the “less time driving, more time playing” attitude.

Crystal Bay

After coming here you can say you have been in two places at once. The California/Nevada state line severs Crystal Bay. I have definitely straddled the line. Crystal Bay sits atop an old granite boulder and boasts panoramic views like no other. They also have casinos, hikes and lake life year round.

Hiking

Fall in South Lake TahoeTahoe is geared around the great outdoors. So what is a Lake Tahoe City Guide without talking about the hiking in the area? There are so many trails and smaller lakes that surround Lake Tahoe. I have linked a great website below with trail information, I highly recommend that you blaze the trails in this beautiful landscape and see the surrounding lakes and views.
