The Baked Bear

I mean, you can create double decker sandwiches, what is better than that?! My favorite is the brownie bowls with the coffee ice cream with whipped cream and chopped nuts!

Casinos at Stateline

Art the Party Lake TahoeThere are a few major casinos in South Lake Tahoe: Harvey’s, Harrah’s, Montbleu, and Hardrock. There are obviously some smaller scale casinos but these 4 I think create the core of the entertainment zone. There are lots of small bars and restaurants throughout each of these. A must see is Arty the Party in Harrah’s. He is such a great DJ and host on the dance floor. Time to go for a booze stroll!

Gunbarrel Tavern & Eatery

I absolutely love this place. They have a massive patio with live music in the evenings, as well as an amazing selection of beer and pub eats. The atmosphere is very rustic and cozy. Grab a drink and watch the Heavenly Gondola pass overhead.

Heavenly Gondola

Take a ride up to the summit on the Heavenly Gondola, located in the Heavenly Village. Tickets cost $42 for adults, $35 for teens and seniors and $20 for kids. The price is a little steep, but once you reach the summit you can stay up there as long as you like. You get an amazing view! Pack a lunch and have a picnic!

Shops at Heavenly Village

Heavenly GondolaThe Heavenly village is a community in itself! So many shops, restaurants and things to do. In the Summer and Fall season, they have a miniature golf course. In the Winter it turns into an ice skating rink. There is also a movie theater year round. The Heavenly village is basically right across the street from the California / Nevada Stateline, hop across the street and enjoy the casinos!

Inspiration Point at Emerald Bay

Inspiration Point Lake TahoeInspiration Point is a MUST see. The earlier in the day you go, the better.  Trust me. It gets really packed and parking is very limited. The overlooks spans gorgeous views of Emerald Bay, Vikingsholm Castle and Fannette Island.

Emerald Bay Helicopter Tour

If you would like an even better view than the above mentioned Inspiration Point, book a helicopter tour of Emerald Bay. I believe the price is $80 per person (don’t quote me on that). But the website is linked below for all of the details. I mean, what is more awesome than a helicopter ride?!

Vikingsholm Castle & Fannette Island

Also located in Emerald Bay, Vikingsholm is a historic Vikings Castle. There is a steep 1 mile hike down to the castle, but it isn’t too difficult in my opinion. Once you are there, you can take a tour of the castle and even take a ferry out to Fannette Island – which houses a tea house! I believe the ferry is only open seasonally, check the linked website below for more details.

Hiking

Lakes surrounding Lake TahoeTahoe is geared around the great outdoors. So what is a Lake Tahoe City Guide without talking about the hiking in the area? There are so many trails and smaller lakes that surround Lake Tahoe. I have linked a great website below with trail information, I highly recommend that you blaze the trails in this beautiful landscape and see the surrounding lakes and views.
