Guide to Coronado Island

Ahhh the posh little island called Coronado. I have loved every minute I’ve spent here, as the sights this island has to offer are breath taking. Please make the trek over the bridge and explore this must see area of San Diego County.

Sun Deck (at the Hotel Del)

The Sun Deck is at Hotel Del and juts right out onto the sand. Can be a little pricy, but their food is excellent and the deck has a laid back, beachfront vibe. You can hang out there for hours.

Address: 1500 Orange Ave, Coronado, CA 92118

Coronado Brewing Company

One of my favorite Breweries in San Diego! Their beer is amazing. Coronado is your typical beachy brew pub, with a great selection of house made beer and simple pub food.

Address: 170 Orange Ave, Coronado, CA 92118

Brigantine Seafood Restaurant

Amazing seafood restaurant, with a huge selection of entrees. The inside is decorated beautifully giving a classy vide to guests. There is a hull of a ship hanging over the bar area, giving the restaurant that nautical vibe that Coronado Island is famous for.

Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill

Bluewater Grill is an oceanfront seafood grill where you can pull your boat up to the dock and go eat. I call it Dock and Dine. Boathouse got its name back in 1887, where it served as Hotel Del’s boathouse. They have been voted (for many years) to have the best seafood in San Diego. Definitely worth the visit!

This spacious hideaway is steps from the beach. After baking in the hot sun, this is a great air conditioned brick ladened escape. Their fish and chips and sweet potato fries are so yummy! After I would leave the beach, I would duck in here for a much needed beer and snack!

Address: 1310 Orange Ave, Coronado, CA 92118

Little Club

The classiest Coronado Dive Bar in all the land. This is an island staple, and has been around for a long time. They have pool tables and karaoke. What’s not to love? This dimly lit dive, is a must visit in my book.

Address: 132 Orange Ave, Coronado, CA 92118

McP’s Irish Pub & Grill

The place is amazing! They boast live entertainment, every night! They have a lively patio, and Irish style eats. I am in love with their Irish Coffee!

The Beach!

In my opinion, this is the nicest beach in San Diego. The sand is white and velvety. You also have an amazing view of hotel del and the mansions lined up on the street behind you. The beach has easy access and ample parking, though nicer days you may have to circle around the neighborhoods.  The North side of the beach acts as the dog beach (bring your puppies!) there are also fire pits and volley ball nets to the south of the dog beach area.

Address: the entire west side of the island 🙂

If you park and walk down Orange Avenue, there are so many boutiques that you will find nowhere else. I urge you to check them out. Coronado thrives on tourism, and these boutiques have such amazing inventory.

Hotel Del

As mentioned in a few locales above, Hotel Del has a lot to offer. It is bursting at the bolts with history, and style. It beautiful grounds host a few restaurants, bars, spas, and my favorite ice cream place: Moo Time Creamery. During the holidays, you can go ice skating right on the beach. It is a pretty amazing sight to see.

SUP & Kayak Rentals

See the website linked below. I have rented from this company on many occasions. I love their prices and equipment for bike, kayak, and stand up paddle boards rentals. On the island you can paddle out right into the bay and explore underneath the Coronado Bridge, all while gazing on the San Diego downtown skyline.

This course is beautiful. If you are a golfer, you will love the views while playing all of the greens. One of the best .courses in San Diego, the views of the marina, bridge, etc. make this a must play for all golfers. If you would like more information on the golf course, please refer to their website linked below, or this Course Review by
